Following the success of the Midtown Cooperative, the Forestal was built in 1959. Located directly adjacent to the Midtown Cooperative, it was originally operated as a rental apartment building and converted to condominium ownership in 1983. As the coop’s sponsor, Midforest co-owns and rents a significant number of units.

The Forestal is situated in the northern part of upscale Forest Hills, a residential area comprised primarily of detached single-family homes and low-rise coops and condominiums. Retail shops, movie theaters, and restaurants are a short walk across Queens Boulevard, a major thoroughfare.

Forest Hills has superb access to public transportation. Manhattan is 15 minutes away on the LIRR and 20 minutes away via the E and F express subway lines. JFK and LaGuardia airports are each 10 minutes away by car.
